David F. Carrageta completed his BSc degree and MSc degree in Biomedical Sciences, in 2015 and 2017 respectively, at the University of Beira Interior, Covilhã, Portugal. Currently, he is a PhD Candidate in Biomedical Sciences at ICBAS - School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, University of Porto, Portugal. David F. Carrageta received certified advanced training in NMR applied to Metabolomics. David F. Carrageta works in the area(s) of Medical and Health Sciences with emphasis on Andrology, Endocrinology, and Metabolism. His research interests the hormonal, metabolic, and ionic regulation of spermatozoa. In addition, he is interested in male infertility as a comorbidity associated to medical conditions, including metabolic diseases (obesity and diabetes mellitus). David F. Carrageta was the Principal Investigator in 1 project funded by the Portuguese Society of Diabetology (2021-2022). He also participates/participated as a member in 2 other funded projects. In 2023, he was a Visiting Scholar at H. L. Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute (Tampa, FL, USA) for 6 months. David F. Carrageta published 24 articles in international peer-reviewed journals and 3 book chapters. He has received 15 awards and/or honors for his research.
