Nuno Beltrão holds a BSc in Biochemistry (University of Coimbra) and a MSc in Cellular and Molecular Biology with a specialization in Neurobiology, for which he received a Merit Scholarship from the University of Coimbra. He is currently enrolled in the PhD programme in Experimental Biology and Biomedicine (University of Coimbra), developing his work at the Synapse Biology Group from the Center for Neuroscience and Cell Biology. He is a co-author in 3 scientific papers and main author of 3 poster presentations (co-authoring another 10). In 2018, he was awarded a one-year MSc research fellowship and, in 2019, he was awarded a PhD fellowship from Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia. In 2020, he was attributed a Fulbright Research Fellowship to conduct his studies at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine (NY, USA). At the moment, his research focuses on understanding the non-motor functions of the cerebellum and on clarifying the role of cerebellar dysfunctions in the pathophysiology of neuropsychiatric disorders.
