Eloah Garcia Rosas

I am a dedicated professional with a background in Oceanography, holding a BSc. from the University of Vale do Itajaí in Brazil and an MSc. in Marine and Coastal Systems from the University of Algarve in Portugal. Recently, I have been working as a data processor of geo data in Fugro Belgium. Prior to this role, I spent the last few years as a research grant holder at the Centre of Marine and Environmental Research (CIMA-UAlg). My main focus over the last five years has been on: (1) Using programming methods to analyze litter data from the OSPAR data bank; (2) Applying a regional model (SOMA-MOHID) to learn more about floating marine litter trajectories in SW Iberian coastal waters; (3) Applying ocean model simulations to better understand the distribution of microplastic in SW Iberian waters; (4) Collaborating and utilizing emerging technologies (such as AUV and numerical models) to observe and comprehend South Iberian oceanography. My diverse experiences have equipped me with a strong foundation in marine research methodologies and data analysis techniques.

Scientific expedition

2019/01/01 - Current	I have been participating in a scientific expedition, sponsored by the Portuguese Navy, to coastal waters twice a month since 2020. The main goal of this expedition is to gather oceanography data using an autonomous underwater vehicle and water sampling techniques.
