Daniela Mendes Duarte has a Biology Degree and a Master's Degree in Plant Biodiversity and Biotechnology, completed in 2021. Currently, she is a PhD Student in Biosciences focused on the Plant Biotechnology area. In previous years, she was a researcher at University of Coimbra in the Cultivar Project, focusing on plant valorization and conservation through in vitro culture and other biotechnoly tools. She has been developing skills in experimental design, plant collection, aqueous plant extracts, plant germination under controlled conditions, plant physiology and micropropagation. To date, she has published a book chapter in 2021 titled "Biopesticides and Sustainability in a Land Use Context" and, in 2023 a paper titled "Invasive plants and agri-food waste extracts as sustainable alternatives for the pre-emergence urban weed control in Portugal Central Region".
