Ana holds a Bachelor's degree in Physics (2013) and a Master's degree in Biophysics and Bionanosystems (2015) from the University of Minho. During her master’s program, she conducted research on dosimetric comparisons of 3D conformational radiotherapy (3DCRT) systems in collaboration with Braga Hospital, gaining over 700 hours of hands-on experience through volunteer work in the hospital’s radiotherapy department. From 2016 to 2017, Ana worked as a Medical Physicist at a Radioncology Clinic in the Azores, where she developed and supervised quality assurance programs. In 2017, she began a PhD in Materials Engineering at the University of Minho in partnership with the International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory (INL). Her research focused on printable smart and multifunctional materials, including magnetoelectrics, magnetic sensors, and low-cost electronics. Ana’s passion for innovation has driven her to leadership roles in healthcare, including serving as an IT Healthcare Engineer at Sectra and COO of a medtech startup. In 2023, she authored *The Discoveries of the Little Scientist*, a book designed to spark children’s curiosity for science. Currently, Ana is an invited professor in the Department of Technology and Innovation at the Polytechnic Institute of Cávado and Ave (IPCA) and has recently started a postdoctoral position in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto (FCUP). Her extensive expertise and multidisciplinary background underpin her impactful contributions to academia and the healthcare sector.
