Ana graduated in Physics in 2013, followed by a master's degree in Biophysics and Bionanosystems in 2015, both from the University of Minho in Portugal. During her master's, Ana conducted a comprehensive research on dosimetric comparison of two treatment planning systems in 3D conformational radiotherapy (3DCRT), which was developed in collaboration with Braga's Hospital. She dedicated over 700 hours to a volunteer internship at the hospital's radiotherapy service, where she gained valuable insights into the practical aspects of her research. From 2016 to 2017, Ana pursued a challenging career as a Medical Physicist at a Radioncology Clinic in the Azores islands, where she developed, implemented and supervised quality assurance (QA) programs. Ana was also responsible for defining technical specifications of equipment, planning new facilities, and developing and implementing radiation protection and safety programs for workers and patients. In 2017, Ana embarked on a PhD in Materials Engineering at the Physics Center of the School of Sciences of the University of Minho and the International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory (INL). Her research focused on printable smart and multifunctional materials, with significant achievements in the areas of printed magnetoelectrics, magnetic sensors and development of low-cost electronics. Ana has several publications in high impact journals such as Advanced Functional Materials, ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces, and Materials Horizons. Her research has yielded 11 ISI papers and 3 book chapters, which reflect her dedication and enthusiasm for science. Ana's expertise and passion for research and innovation have paved the way for her successful career in healthcare companies. Her experience and background have helped her excel as an IT Healthcare Engineer at Sectra, where she worked with PACS technology, DICOM protocol, and HL7 standard. Ana has also contributed to the scientific community through various dissemination and outreach activities, including presenting four posters, one of them at the European Materials Research Society and delivering two oral presentations at Materials-related conferences. Her contributions demonstrate her commitment to the advancement of science and technology in several areas.
