Ana Filipa Carneiro completed a master’s degree in Applied Biochemistry in field of Biotechnology from Minho University. Prior to that, she obtained a bachelor's degree in Biochemistry, from the same university. Her master thesis, entitled “Functional characterization of VvCAX3: a grapevine cation/H+ exchanger that transports Ca2+ and other cations”, explored into the intricate mechanisms of a grapevine cation/H+ exchanger and its role in transporting calcium ions and other cations During her research, she gained proficiency in plasmid construction, heterologous expression techniques, and transcriptomic analysis. Currently, Ana is enrolled in a Ph.D. in Tissue Engineering, Regenerative Medicine and Stem Cells, with research focused on exploration and heterologous expression in bioactive proteins from starfish Asterias rubens to development of marine-inspired biomaterials. Ana Filipa Carneiro's work contributed to the understanding of molecular processes and to the development of innovative biomaterials inspired by nature, culminating in the publication of 2 papers. Collaboratively, she has worked with 24 professionals on co-authored scientific papers. With a solid academic background and extensive research experience in biochemistry, molecular biology, and medical biotechnology, Ana is a dedicated professional committed to scientific advancement.
