Jorge Fernandes finished his master's degree in Applied Biochemistry at University of Minho, having developed laboratorial work under the supervision of Professor Patrícia Maciel and Professor Alberto Dias, where he assessed the neuroprotective potential of Natural Products using C. elegans models of neurodegenerative diseases. His background studies also include a BSc in Biochemistry, where he briefly worked under the supervision of Professor Alberto Dias, evaluating the antioxidant capacity of Arbutus unedus extracts.
