Sandra Martins completed her Ph.D. in Agricultural Production Chains – From Fork to Farm from the University of Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro in December 2023. She holds a Master's degree in Molecular and Cell Biology from the University of Aveiro (2015) and a Bachelor's degree in Biology from the University of Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro (2013). She is a Researcher at CITAB - Centre for the Research and Technology of Agro-Environmental and Biological Sciences, at the University of Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro. The principal focus of her research has been the study of several practices in order to improve crop sustainability and competitiveness, as well as to adapt and mitigate the climate change impacts. Specifically, her research mainly focuses on Mediterranean crops, particularly the olive tree and grapevine.
