Cátia Fidalgo graduated in Biomedical Engineering in 2010 from the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança and obtain her Master in Biomedical Engineering in 2012 from the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto. PhD in 2017 in Medical, Clinical and Experimental Sciences in the area of Cardiovascular Sciences from the University of Padua (Italy), under a European Marie Curie project entitled TECAS ("Tissue Engineering Solutions for Cardiovascular Surgery"). Author of 8 articles in scientific journals with review and several posters/oral presentations presented at national and international conferences. She has received several research grants throughout her scientific career, including a scientific initiation grant, a PhD grant and a post-doctoral fellowship, having a Junior Researcher position in 2020. She worked mainly on projects in the areas of Medical Sciences and Microbiology, with a focus on Medical Biotechnology, Biomaterials, Sterilization and Sequencing. In her scientific and professional activity, she has interacted with 55 collaborators and co-authors of scientific articles, also participating in the mentoring of students and organizing 6 events. The contribution to the research team at AquaValor will be focused on several areas of Microbiology, the study of the hydrogenome of natural mineral waters and the development of innovative products related to natural mineral water. She is currently Researcher and Technical Manager of Microbiology in AquaValor, where she has carried out the validation for accreditation of several parameters, including the research and quantification of Legionella spp. and Legionella pneumophila by the cultural method according to ISO 11731.
