Filipe Almeida is MSc in Civil Engineering from the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP) and, currently, he is a PhD student in Civil Engineering from the aforementioned institution. He makes part of the research unit CONSTRUCT - Institute of R&D in Structures and Construction (FEUP). His main research topic is sustainable building materials. Within this context, he has been performing investigations related to alkaline cements and the incorporation of recycled aggregates in mortars and concrete.
