Sónia A. Pinho holds a degree in Biotechnology Engineering from the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança and a Master's in Biomolecular Methods at the University of Aveiro. Currently, she is completing a PhD in Experimental Biology and Biomedicine at the CNC - Center for Neuroscience and Cell Biology, University of Coimbra. She is also involved in the European Project "Pas Gras - De-risking Metabolic, Environmental, and Behavioral Determinants of Obesity in Children, Adolescents, and Young Adults” working at the Innate Immunity in inflammation-related diseases research line within the CNC Cell Signaling and Metabolism in Disease group. Her scientific background spans cell and molecular biology, biochemistry and metabolism with a primary focus on biomedical sciences, and more recently in inflammation models and oxidative stress signaling pathways. She contributed with knowledge to 13 articles published in peer-review reference journals (5 as first author) and a book chapter. In addition to her academic research, she also gained valuable experience in the start-up sector, working at Equigerminal S.A. on equine health and genetics research.
