Tânia Cristina Soares Martins, Invited Assistant Professor and Junior Researcher at iBiMED, University of Aveiro. She completed a PhD in Biomedicine in 2024, a master's degree in Molecular Biomedicine in 2017 and a bachelor's degree in Biomedical Sciences in 2015. Tânia's main scientific interests are the discovery of biomarkers for the diagnosis of Alzheimer's Disease (AD) and new therapeutic targets. She published 13 articles in peer-reviewed journals (547 citations in Scopus, h-index 9) and performed 11 oral presentations in national and international conferences. Tânia completed three stays at Universitätsmedizin Göttingen, as a visiting researcher, which allowed using high-sensitivity methodologies for biomarker discovery. She organized 2 events and participated in more than 50 events, including scientific conferences and volunteering activities. Since 2020, Tânia has been teaching as a program-based learning tutor in 8 curricular units of Biomedical Sciences degree. Tânia has received 4 awards and 8 honors, among them a Merit Scholarship by DGES due to the exceptional master's degree performance and was awarded a scholarship to participate in the course "Artificial Intelligence for University Professors". She works in the area of medical and health Sciences, basic medicine with an emphasis on neurosciences.
