Liliana Moreira-Costa completed her PhD in Cardiovascular and Respiratory Sciences in 2024, from Cardiovascular Research & Development Unit (UnIC@RISE), Department of Surgery and Physiology, Faculty of Medicine of University of Porto, her Master's Degree in Biochemistry - Clinical Biochemistry in 2018 and her Graduation in Biochemistry in 2016 from the University of Aveiro. She has developed research work in the study of cardiovascular diseases (heart failure, pulmonary hypertension, coronary artery disease) pathophysiology, pharmacological testing for the treatment of heart failure and the use of animal models as surrogates of these conditions. Liliana worked mainly with rodent and swine animal models of disease, performing cardiovascular structure and function evaluations (through effort testing, ecocardiography and invasive hemodynamic studies, namely). Liliana has experience in different molecular biology approaches, such as protein extration, western blotting and RT-qPCR, in histological analysis, and also in statistical analysis for data analysis and integration. Liliana is the author/co-author of 7 papers in indexed journals and presented her work in 6 oral communications and 10 posters. Her work was awarded with 4 distinctions. In addition, Liliana participated in several research projects. Determined and ambitious, willing to accept new challenges, Liliana tries to overcome any challenge with work and dedication. Revealing the ability to adapt to different work environments, with a practical, efficient and curious spirit, she's a motivated and hard-working researcher.
