Havermans Charlotte. Published 25 articles in peer-reviewed journals, 2 book chapters. Her research lies in the area of Natural Sciences/biology with an emphasis on Marine Biology and Evolutionary Biology. She graduated with a PhD in Biological Sciences at the Université catholique de Louvain (Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium) in 2012. Her PhD thesis focused on the evolutionary ecology of Antarctic and deep-sea crustaceans, using phylogenetic and phylogeographic methods. After that, she worked as a Postdoctoral researcher at the Royal Belgian Institute of Natural Sciences, the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (Belgium, 2014-2015), the Hansewissenschaftskolleg (Delmenhorst, Germany, 2015), the University of Bremen (Bremen, Germany, 2015-2019) in collaboration with the Alfred Wegener Institute Helmholtz Centre for Polar and Marine Research (Bremerhaven, Germany). Her postdoctoral studies dealt with the impact of environmental changes on polar benthos and zooplankton, and the consequences of pelagic range shifts on polar food webs. Since 2019, she leads a Young Investigator Research Group at the Alfred Wegener Institute on Arctic Jellies to investigate the impact of gelatinous zooplankton communities on changing Arctic ecosystems.
