Young, ambitious and methodical investigator whose knowledge was enhanced along the years of my academic journey culminating in a maximum grade (20) in the dissertation of my master thesis. Specifically, the success of this project was sustained by my devotion to science, evidenced by the multidisciplinary shown by my posters collection, ranging from microbiology/molecular biology ("Comparing Fluorescent Proteins for Studying Streptococcus pneumoniae Cell Biology and Bacteria-Host Cell Interactions" - Gordon Research Conference on Bacterial Cell Biology and Development) to chemistry ("Synthesis of solvatochromic phenylamino-coumarin dyes and their application as yellow staining agents for S. pneumoniae cellular membrane" - 23rd Tetrahedron Symposium), having as a common factor the development of new techniques for the study of pneumococcal strains. This study was also deepened in my fellowships, either in partnership with UCIBIO "UCIBIO 2021 - Escola Verão - Construction of plasmids necessary for the production of Streptococcus pneumoniae fluorescent strains" or in the fellowship funded by FCT "architecture of the polysaccharide capsule of streptococcal strains representing different capsule types and genetic backgrounds; 004/BI/2023 - Fellowship for Masters", additionally to the developed master's thesis. During the period of this thesis, I participated in and organised scientific symposiums (Simpósio UCIBIO 2021 – “Escola Verão”; and FCT – “Jornadas Intercalares dos mestrados”), besides helping to supervise undergraduate and master's students in a posterior phase, allowing me to cement my sense of responsibility and leadership. In addition to developing these soft skills, I had the opportunity to improve my knowledge of various bioinformatics software (UCSF Chimera, DNASTAR Lasergene, Kegg Mapper, Phyton language) and laboratory techniques (bacterial-cells infection assays, bacterial transformations, overlap PCR), with a particular specialisation in microscopy (Fluorescence microscopy, Immunofluorescence assays, Confocal microscopy and currently training Transmission electron microscopy). Therefore, I am ready and keen to embrace the next project of my professional journey and continue improving the scientific knowledge in the area, particularly with the opportunity presented to join a doctoral program with PhD Research Studentships.
