Danilo Jesus obtained his Integrated Master degree in Biomedical Engineering at University of Coimbra, where he continued as a research fellow until July of 2013. After one year in the Tampere University of Technology, Finland, as assistant researcher, he was enrolled as a PhD student at Wroclaw University of Technology, Poland, through the project AGEYE, a Marie Curie ITN. Later on, he moved to the KU Leuven, Belgium, to start working as a postdoc. Currently, he is working at Erasmus MC, Netherlands, co-leading a group on artificial intelligence (AI) applied to ophthalmic imaging. His current research interests are data science and AI models that contribute to an accurate evaluation of biological parameters, involving registration, segmentation, and classification-related tasks.
