Raphaele Malheiro is a Researcher at the Centre for Territory, Environment and Construction (CTAC), University of Minho, Portugal. She has developed scientific and pedagogical activities in the construction materials area, and she has more than 15 years of research experience. She has been a Civil Engineer since 2006 when she graduated from the Federal University of Paraiba in Brazil. She has a Master´s Degree in Urban Engineering (2008), Federal University of Paraíba, and a Doctoral´s Degree in Civil Engineering, University of Minho (2018). In her Master and PhD she worked on the following topics: durability of concrete structures, chloride transportation and carbonation in concrete, and sustainability of concrete structures. More recently, she developed work on the energy efficiency of buildings, Portuguese vernacular architecture and bio-based materials. She is a motivated researcher always available to improve your knowledge. She has been very active in her scientific career, reaching important milestones such as being the main arguer in juries, guest editor and reviewing papers in indexed journals, and supervising students (PhD and MSc). She also teaches lectures in the Architectural and Civil Engineering´s courses, having been awarded the Pedagogical Merit Diploma for the activities carried out in 2022/2023. Currently, she is also the Principal Investigator (PI) of the GlassCON project (https://sites.google.com/view/glasscon) funded by the Portuguese government through the FCT, co-PI of the Norte+Verde project and sustainability consultant for the PodarLux project (Brazil).
