Filipa Pinto holds a degree in Criminology from the Faculty of Law, University of Porto, and is a student in the Master of Criminal Sciences in the Law School, University of Minho. Thanks to her academic background, Filipa had the brief opportunity to contribute, as a criminologist, to a harm reduction project. She is also certified as an Instructor by the Institute of Employment and Professional Formation and is qualified to coach and effectively communicate criminological issues. Additionally, Filipa also occupies a position of Research Grant Holder in the “Crime and Justice Administration in the Portuguese Colonial War (1961- 1974): Exploratory Analysis of the Criminal Proceedings against Combatants of the Portuguese Armed Forces in Angola, Mozambique and Guinea-Bissau” Project (also known as InJUSTiceWar). Filipa’s research currently focuses mainly on several topics related to Green Criminology and Victimology, namely the intricate dynamics of crimes against non-human animals.
