Douglas Campbell received his PhD in 1991 at the University of Western Ontario, Canada. He is currently full professor at Mount Allison University, Canada, and recipient of a Tier I Canada Research Chair in Phytoplankton Ecophysiology. His core research interests are centered on how environmental change affects photosynthesis, elemental resource allocations and the costs of growth in microalgae. He co-founded the company Environmental Proteomics (www.environmentalproteomics.ca) to apply bioinformatics to quantify key proteins from environmental or uncharacterized samples. His main areas of research include the ecophysiology of phytoplankton, with particular emphases on: i) Photosystem II and the Photosystem II inactivation/regeneration cycle; ii) Resource allocations and analyses of the costs of growth and acclimation to environmental variation; iii) New, integrative approaches to quantify and analyze these processes. He has published over 125 peer reviewed articles (h-index 42) and has attracted numerous funding contracts. He has supervised or co-supervised over 150 undergraduate students, 12 graduate students and 20 PhD theses. Full CV: https://tinyurl.com/vn56r5pv
