Afonso L (ORCID: 0000-0003-4455-5895) graduated in Nutrition Sciences (University of Porto, 2008), completed a Master in Public Health (Faculty of Medicine, University of Porto, 2012) and a Doctoral Program in Psychology (Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences, University of Porto, 2020). She was a research fellow at the European multicentre HabEat project (FP7-KBBE-2009-3), working in collaborative research with birth cohorts from Europe: ALSPAC (UK), EDEN (France), and Europrevall (Greece) in determining factors and critical periods in food habit formation and breaking in early childhood. She then worked on a project aiming at understanding the dynamics of childhood body fat and the mediating effect of dietary patterns and eating behaviors (PTDC/SAU-EPI/121532/2010) and was a Regional Field Coordinator (Açores and Madeira) of the Portuguese Food, Nutrition and Physical Activity Survey 2015-2016 with EEA Grants funding (PT06 - 000088SI3). In 2016, Lisa was awarded an individual FCT Doctoral grant. Her main topic of interest in her Ph.D. has been the development and testing of new strategies to improve children's dietary habits, at the school and/or home level. Since 2008, Lisa collaborated with the School of Education (Polytechnic of Porto) and more recently with the Research Centre on Didactics and Technology in the Education of Trainers (University of Aveiro) designing the project ‘The taste of biodiversity’ that aimed to promote children’s preference for fruit and vegetables while valuing the biodiversity, in primary schools. In the last years, she was the first author of 5 published articles in peer-reviewed journals [h-index: 5; citations: 145; source: Google Scholar], and participated actively in conferences, at the national (attended two and organized other), and international level. In 2020, Lisa created the Injoy - Nutrição Infantil Project to translate evidence to families for the improvement of their children's eating habits.
