Ana Carina Alves Pereira de Mira Geraldo, iniciou o seu percurso académico na área de Engenharia Zootécnica pela Universidade de Évora com término em 2005, altura em que optou por um percurso académico internacional que se iniciou, ainda durante a licenciatura, em 2004, com o Programa ERASMUS de 6 meses em Praga e se seguiu de um estágio no Brasil. De regresso ao seu país natal, voltou à Universidade de Évora para realizar o Mestrado em Zootecnia, tendo em 2009 ingressado num Doutoramento em Ciências ¿ Qualidade e Produtividade Animal na Universidade de São Paulo (Brasil). Entre 2006 e 2015 foi desenvolvendo trabalho de campo junto de diferentes empresas agro-pecuárias. No desenvolvimento da sua carreira enquanto investigadora, conta com inúmeras publicações na área de bioclimatologia e bem-estar animal. É membro integrado do MED (Mediterranean Institute for Agriculture, Environment and Development), e desde o ano lectivo de 2017 que colabora com o departamento de Zootecnia da Universidade de Évora como professora convidada.
