Isabel Maria Morais Basto

Isabel Basto is a PhD researcher, assistant professor at Universidade da Maia and clinical psychologist. Completed the PhD in Clinical Psychology at the University of Coimbra. Published several articles in ISI journals, most of them in process research in psychotherapy, specifically focused on the assimilation of traumatic/problematic experiences, using the Assimilation Model as a theoretical/methodological approach. Supervised Masters Students in clinical, health and forensic Psychology Currently, supervises 9 PhD students (3 ongoing FCT grants). She is involved on training psychotherapists in CBT using Deliberated Practice, and clinical trials blending CBT and physical exercise on depression treatment.
