Ana Colim has a Ph.D. in Industrial and Systems Engineering (concluded in 2017) and an MSc in Human Engineering (concluded in 2009) from the University of Minho (UMinho). She is an Invited Professor on Ergonomics and Human Factors at the Department of Production and Systems, School of Engineering at the UMinho (since 2010). At the UMinho she is a researcher at the ALGORITMI Research Center in the “Industrial Engineering and Management” research line, group of “Ergonomics and Human Factors”. Her areas of scientific interest are Biomechanics, Applied Ergonomics, Occupational Safety and Hygiene, Human-centric design, Lean Manufacturing. Actually, at DTx - Digital Transformation Colab, she is the Coordinator of Technological Innovation & Transfer Group - Ergonomics and Engineering Psychology. Since 2019, she is a Researcher at DTx, where she has developed research in different projects linked to the industry, such as “Symbiotic Human-Robot Collaboration in Joint Manufacturing Tasks” – parts I and II and “Human interfacing & mimicking in cyber-physical systems” (prospective project). Among other R&D projects that she has participated in the last 5 years, the highlight goes to the recent project "I-CATER - Intelligent robotic Coworker Assistant for industrial Tasks with Ergonomics Rationale" funded by FCT, with the reference PTDC/EEI-ROB/3488/2021. In this project, she is a Task Leader responsible for the day-to-day execution of the project. She was the supervisor of various MSc. dissertations - 26 concluded and 7 ongoing. Currently, she supervises 5 ongoing Ph.D. projects (all with MIT Portugal/FCT grants). Ana Colim has been a member of the Directive Board of the MSc. course of Human Engineering, at UMinho. She is also a member of the International Scientific Committee of the International Symposium on Occupational Safety and Hygiene. She has authored more than 50 papers in international peer-reviewed journals and proceedings at international conferences.
