Laura Regalado has a Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry (2019) and a Master's degree in Application in Biotechnology and Synthetic Biology (2022), both from the University of Porto, and is currently enrolled in the Biology doctoral program (PhD) at the same institution. PhD grant awarded in the 2023 FCT call. Erasmus+ student at the Barcelona Biomedical Research Park, Pompeu Fabra University of Barcelona in 2021. Currently an integrated member of LAQV/REQUIMTE and Biopolis association. Her work focuses on phytopathology, namely microbial epidemiology, evolution, and characterization (resorting to several techniques such as NGS, comparative genomics, and transcriptomics), exploring new sustainable molecules to control plant bacterial diseases and insect pests. Currently co-supervising 1 undergraduate student. The first author of 1 published international research article and co-author of 4 published international research articles (WoS, Q1). Research member in 1 international project (VINE.PROTECT), 1 co-promotion national project (STOP.SUZUKII), and 1 FCT-funded national project (DrosuGreen). 3 research fellowships awarded: the first in 2019/2020 to explore the potential of antimicrobial peptides against phytopathogenic bacteria, the second during 2022/2023 in the scope of the STOP.SUZUKII project and the third in 2023 within the project OmicBots. Participated in 2 invited oral presentations, 1 oral presentation at an international conference, and as author and/or speaker in 7 oral and 3 panel presentations at national conferences.
