Clara Alves Ponte

Clara Ponte received her B.Sc. degree in Biochemistry (2018), and M.Sc. degree in Chemistry (2020). Both these degrees were taken at Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto (FCUP). During her Master's dissertation she developed porous adsorbent materials based on metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), magnetic MOF-based composites and MOF-derived porous carbons, and applied them in water remediation systems. She participated in a six-month internship in synthesis and characterization of mesoporous silica for the removal of water contaminants. From July to October 2020, she was a research fellow in the hands-on-nano summer school financed by the Verão com Ciência program, an FCT-funded initiative. Furthermore, she co-supervised secondary school students during pedagogical internships in collaboration with the Secondary School of Maia, with whom recently received an Honourable Mention in the 28th Contest for Young Scientists and Researchers.
