Mário Nuno do Bento Antas is the Diretor of the National Coach Museum in Lisbon, Portugal. He is an invited Professor at Lusófona University at the Department of Museology UNESCO Chair "Education, Citizenship and Cultural Diversity" since 2014 and also a supervisor of master's dissertations and doctoral theses. He is a PhD Doctor in Museology from the Lusófona University of Humanities and Technologies with the final classification of Approved unanimously with Praise and Distinction (2014).He has a Postgraduate Course in Museology at the Lusófona University of Humanities and Technologies (2007) and a Master's Degree in Art History from the Lusíada University of Lisbon with a final grade of 17 out of 20 (2000). He also has a Postgraduate Course in Museology and Heritage at the Lusíada University of Lisbon with a final grade of Very Good (1996). He is an Accredited trainer with registration CCPFC/RFO-11844/00 awarded by the Scientific-Pedagogical Council for Continuous Training. He has a Professionalization in teaching History from the Lusíada University of Lisbon with a final grade of 17 out of 20 (1996) and a Bachelor's Degree in History, scientific branch from the Lusíada University of Lisbon with a final grade of 15 out of 20 (1994). Since 2021 he is the Director of the National Coach Museum and he was a Higher technician of the General Administration for Cultural Heritage from 2006 to 2021. As a higher technician at the National Archaeology Museum developed several projects. He was the Coordinationator of the Portuguese team of the international project Museums and Community: Concepts, Experiences, and Sustainability in Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean (EU-LAC) funded by the Horizon 2020 - Research and Innovation Framework Programme Education (H2020-INT-SOCIETY-2015) of the European Commission. He was the Coordinationator of the Portuguese team of the European Project EMEE Eurovision - Museums Exhibiting Europe funded by the Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA) agreement n.º 2012/1243/001-001 (522666-CU-1-2012-1-DE-CULTURE-VOL11) from 2012 to 2016. He is a Guest specialist at various international seminars promoted by the Council of Europe, having been an international member of the award committee for education of the Smithsonian Learning and Digital Access Center of the Smithsonian Institution in Washington (2019). He is an Author or co-author of scientific articles in national and international journals of History, Museology, Art, and Heritage. He has 2 International prizes. The European Heritage Awards/Europa Nostra Awards ILUCIDARE Special Prize for Cultural Heritage-Led International Relations in 2021 and in 2012, and awarded the prize for the best educational practice in Museums by the International Council of Museums - Committee for Education and Cultural Action ICOM-CECA (2012). He focused his research in the field of Museology, particularly in the areas of education, management, communication, new technologies in museums, and audience engagement.
