My training and research background is on cellular and molecular biology, and biotechnological engineering. My career has been developed at the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Animal Health, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Lisbon, within the framework of several fields of Veterinary Medicine, specifically in the area of Reproductive and Developmental Biology. Moreover, I'm particularly focused on the 1) Molecular mechanisms that regulate sperm function; 2) Molecular basis of the crosstalk between gamete/embryo and female reproductive tract and 3) Host-pathogen interactions during the course of the uterine disease (canine pyometra and bovine endometritis). In parallel, I'm also involved in the veterinary molecular diagnosis of external services (diagnosis of bovine respiratory/reproductive diseases; Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Lisbon - LabRepA; http://www.fmv.ulisboa.pt/pt/servicos/diagnostico/laboratorio-de-reproducao-animal).
