Jessica Da Silva is actually attending the PhD Programme in Experimental Biology and Biomedicine (PDBEB) 2020/2021 from the Institute for Interdisciplinary Research of the University of Coimbra with a FCT individual PhD scholarship. She also integrated the Fulbright community having be awarded a Fulbright scholarship for research with the support of FCT to develop part of her PhD at UC Davis, CA, U.S. She completed her Master Degree in Pharmaceutical Biotechnology in 2019 (Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Coimbra), with a dissertation entitled "Evaluation of the immunotoxicological properties of PLA nanoparticles", and her Bachelor Degree in Biomedical Sciences in 2017 (Department of Medical Sciences, University of Aveiro). Moreover, she is currently a researcher at CNC-UC (CIBB, University of Coimbra), being a laboratory member of the Metabolism, Aging and Disease - Obesity, Diabetes and Complications Group. She has recently published an original article as first author in the journal Advances in Wound Care entitled "Impact of Psychological Distress on Physiological Indicators of Healing Prognosis in Patients with Chronic Diabetic Foot Ulcers: A Longitudinal Study", and a review paper as first author in the International Journal of Molecular Sciences entitled "Innovative Functional Biomaterials as Therapeutic Wound Dressings for Chronic Diabetic Foot Ulcers". Moreover, she has been accredited as investigator for scientific experimentation involving animals (rats and mice) attributed by DGAV (Direção Geral de Alimentação e Veterinária, Portugal) - Course on Laboratory Animal Sciences - FELASA Category B certification.

Nos nanómetros - tamanho, concentração e estabilidade de partículas: boas práticas de medição de tamanho (DLS) e potencial zeta (ELS); multi-angle DLS (MADLS). Nos micrómetros - análise de imagem automatizada: medição direta do tamanho e forma de partículas; contagem de partículas; identificação química por espectroscopia RAMAN.
