I have a degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Porto (1999-2005), a Master's degree in Pharmaceutical Biotechnology from the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Coimbra (2016-2018) and, since 2021, I am a student at the Doctoral Program in Public Health of the Faculty of Medicine of University of Porto. After 10 years of activity as a community pharmacist, which helped me consolidate my desire to contribute to the improvement of people's health, besides having offered me the opportunity to acquire and modulate many technical and personal skills (autonomy, problem-solving, persistence, empathy, health communication, management, marketing, etc), I decided to fulfill this goal through my true passion, which is scientific research, already started during the graduation. In fact, during graduation, I integrated into the Biochemical Department (2003-2004) and was awarded a vacancy at Institut Pasteur, through the Leonard da Vinci Students Exchange program, as part of the final internship. Until joining the Doctoral Program, I have participated in diverse research projects, in different teams, from those more related to basic biochemical research to those more associated with applied research, namely in the area of nanotechnologies applied to cancer, which produced four publications in peer-reviewed journals and four communications in prestigious national and international conferences, the majority as first author. I am currently working on my Ph.D. project which is focused on one of the priorities of the Portuguese Dementia Strategy, the timely diagnosis of dementia. In all the projects I engage in, I always try to motivate the rest of the team to a vision of innovation, positive change, willingness to face challenges and solve problems, persistence, resilience, and energy. This vision was built due, on the one hand, to the awarded participation in entrepreneurship programs, namely in the field of digital health, and, on the other hand, to personality features. The field of digital health is a personal passion, and I have the opportunity to work on it through the Ph.D. project, but also through my integration in ASPHER (Association of Schools of Public Health in the European Region), namely in the Digital Health Task Force. Volunteering is present in my routine, being a collaborator at SPEM (Portuguese Society of Multiple Sclerosis) where I am currently participating in international epidemiological research led by EMSP (European Multiple Sclerosis Platform). I am also a member of the Scientific Committee of RD-Portugal (Rare-Disease Portugal) and of the National Cancer Hub (AICIB). During this journey, I won a Merit award for my performance in the Master´s course, as well as prizes in two of the entrepreneurship programs, as well as had the great opportunity to co-organize two contests of business ideation, integrated into the annual congresses of SPEM on 2020 and 2021.
