Diogo Alvim is Doctor of Philosophy in Composition/ Sonic Arts by Queen's University Belfast - Sonic Arts Research Centre (2016). He completed his Masters in Composition in 2011 by the Instituto Politécnico de Lisboa, Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa). Before this, he had a Bachelor's degree in composition in 2009 by Instituto Politécnico de Lisboa, Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa, and a pre-Bologna Degree (Licenciatura) in Architecture (2004) by Universidade de Lisboa, Faculdade de Arquitectura. He currently teaches as Invited Adjunct Teacher in Instituto Politécnico de Leiria, Escola Superior de Artes e Design in Caldas da Rainha and is a Researcher in Universidade Nova de Lisboa Centro de Estudos de Sociologia e Estética Musical. He published 3 articles in journals and one book chapter, as well as other non academic publications. Supervised 1 MSc dissertation and co-supervised 4 other. He received 1 awards for a publication. Participates and/or participated as Other in 4 projects, PhD Student Fellow in 1 project and Supervisor in 1 project. In his curriculum Ciência Vitae the most frequent terms in the context of scientific, technological and artistic-cultural output are: Composition; Sound Arts; Music; Sound; moving image. He works between music and sound arts, exploring their interactions with architecture, specific contexts, and other arts. He co-directed "Underscore" - a Festival about music, sound and moving image, and has participated in many different residencies, workshops, and festivals.
