Curriculum Vitae
Cristiana Raquel Rodrigues Madeira
I obtained my BSc in Biomedical Sciences, in 2021, with a final grade of 15/20. In my last year I produced my first research
study entitled: “Estudo do papel do componente dos grânulos de stress CARHSP1 nas doenças de poliglutaminas”. In 2023, I completed
my MSc in Biomedical Sciences-disease mechanisms, obtaining a grade of 18/20. Throughout my master’s thesis, I established
a novel Cockayne syndrome B neuronal culture model using induced pluripotent stem cells derived from patients, where I obtained
a grade of 19/20. This endeavor aimed to draw parallels with the human condition, facilitating the translation of promising
outcomes into clinical testing for new therapeutic approaches. In the end of 2023, I transitioned into a role as a research
fellow at the Molecular Neuroscience and Gene Therapy (MNGT) Laboratory, under the guidance of Professor Clévio Nóbrega at
the Algarve Biomedical Center Research Institute (ABC-RI), University of Algarve. Throughout my research activities I have
gained proficiency in a diverse array of techniques, including fibroblast reprogramming into induced pluripotent stem cells,
cell culture, Western blot analysis, immunocytochemistry, PCR, immunohistochemistry, analysis of animal slices, and statistical
analysis. Furthermore, I have been selected for two poster presentations at international meetings: European Neuroscience
Conference by Doctoral Students (ENCONDS) (2023) and Federation of European Neuroscience Societies (FENS) Regional Meeting
(FRM) (2023). I was also selected for an oral presentation at 54º Meeting da Sociedade Portuguesa de Farmacologia (SPF) (2024).
