I am Toktam Pedramrad a native of Iran now residing in Aveiro (Portugal) since 2023. I am Ph.D. student in Material Science and Engineering and a research fellow in the FAIST project (Project no 66,C644917018-00000031,financed by PRR- Plano de Recuperacao e Resiliencia) at the University of Aveiro. I hold a master’s degree in Analytical Chemistry from Azad University of Mashhad (Iran). During my undergraduate years at Azad University, I specialized in the development of chemical materials, various devices such as UV-VIS, Voltammetry, FT-IR, Electron Microscopy, and sample preparation methods, including microextraction techniques such as SPM, LPME, and SPME, I dedicated from 2014 until 2019 years to research at the University of PNU Mashhad (Iran) focusing on synthesizing nanocomposites, particularly nanoadsorbents and nanocatalysts. Notably, I led an R&D project in copromotion with a petroleum industry (GAS FILLING COMPANY, Iraq) targeting to develop strategies for sulfur removal from hydrocarbon fuels. From my research so far resulted the publication 6 scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals, namely Microchemical Journal, Journal Arabian Journal of Chemistry, Journal of Sulfur Chemistry,ranian Journal of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, TrAC Trends in Analytical Chemistry, and Eurasian Journal of Analytical Chemistry. Also, I secured 3 national (Iran) patents, attended 4 scientific conferences with poster presentations, and helped to organize 1 exhibition to students from University of Aveiro. As a research fellow from the FAIST project I had the opportunity to participate in a training course intitled Bioshoes Creators, promoted by CTCP -Center Tecnologico do Calcado de Portugal. Nowadays, my research focuses on the development, processing, and characterization of multifunctional bioplastics using agrifood byproducts as feedstocks.
