In 2012 I developed my Master’s Thesis in the Geotechnical Laboratory of the Faculty of Engineering of University of Porto (LabGeo – FEUP). The primary aim of the research was the geotechnical characterization of residual soil from Porto granite by means of seismic waves. Upon completing postgraduate studies, I began working as a consultant in Ecuador where I was involved in geotechnical projects related to slope stability. After this experience, I started working as an assistant professor of soil mechanics at the Escuela Superior Politécnica del Litoral (ESPOL) – Guayaquil, where I developed a Master’s Degree in Geotechnical Engineering. At the same time, I collaborated with a research team during the Pedernales Earthquake (Ecuador) post-seismic field analysis. The results of this research were presented at international conferences. At present, I integrate the research group of FEUP as a Ph.D. candidate of the Doctoral Program in Civil Engineering (specialization Geotechnics), under the supervision of Professor Antonio Viana da Fonseca. My current research interests involve laboratory characterization and the constitutive modeling of tailings materials.
