I obtained my masters’ degree in Psychology from University of Minho (Portugal) in 2016. My master’s thesis was conducted at the Animal Learning and Behavior Laboratory and focused on disentangling which cue (reinforcement contingencies, time or number) pigeons used to solve a task. In parallel, I completed a curricular internship in Organizational Psychology that focused on improving work safety. In 2017, I enrolled in the doctoral program in Basic Psychology at University of Minho with a grant (PD/BD/128458/2017) from the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) to study the mechanisms underlying numerosity discrimination in pigeons. As part of my doctoral curriculum, I received training in different data analysis tools (e.g., VBA, R, Psychopy) and attended courses to enhance my mathematical skills (e.g., Calculus, Probability Theory, Linear Algebra). I completed a lab rotation in the Psycholinguistics research group, where I learned about the processing of grammatical gender in bilinguals. From Nov. 2021 to Dec. 2023, I worked as a Research Assistant at the Animal Learning and Behavior Lab and my responsibilities included programming experiments, data collection and analysis, animal care and communicating scientific results. Over the years, I have participated in national and international conferences and published my research in peer-reviewed journals.
