Bruno Veigas completed is PhD at New University of Lisbon in 2016, resulting in the development of an electrochemical based real-time gene expression method for cancer diagnostics as well as nanotechnology-based infectious disease detection technologies. Post-PhD, he worked for 1 year and 6 months full time developing the Inno-Indigo-RA Detect European Project between the Nanomedicine@FCT (Portugal) and the Nanobiophotonics group (Leibniz Institute of photonic Technology Institute - Germany). After this period, he was awarded a Post-Doc grant by the Portuguese National Foundation for Science and Technology. He is currently employed as a Senior researcher at AlmaScience in full- time basis. Within these positions he explored new areas providing an invaluable experience in new fields of research allowing to pursue new technology concepts and architectures. During his research career, published a total of 24 peer-reviewed journal articles, including in prestigious and high impact scientific journals in the field such as Biosensors and Bioelectronics, Lab-on-Chip, and the Journal of Nanobiotechnology. Notably, the innovative aspects and industry relevance is demonstrated by the creation and development of technologies in close collaboration with industry partners and their implementation, as well as by the creation of intellectual property and integration into the product pipeline of a spinoff company. He also have a strong experience in inter-disciplinary research collaboration. Previous collaboration enabled the development of transparent/flexible electronic sensors, together with the development of traditional and digital microfluidic devices and their application for DNA detection. Recently, he developed biosensing schemes based on nano-optical principles, with a special emphasis on multiplexed, on-site-enabled technologies for early detection of autoimmune diseases. Bruno Miguel Ribeiro Veigas. Concluiu o Doutoramento em Biotecnologia em 2016 pela Universidade Nova de Lisboa Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia, Mestrado em Mestrado em Biotecnologia em 2009 pela Universidade Nova de Lisboa e Licenciatura em Quimica Aplicada em 2007 pela Universidade Nova de Lisboa Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia.
