Ana Matias completed her degree and PhD in Biochemistry at the University of Algarve, which included stays at the Institute for Genetics of the University of Cologne, Germany. With 19 years of experience in life sciences, student supervision and laboratory management, she has established herself as a experienced professional in her field. Initially, her research focused on proteomics for 8 years, followed by 2 years dedicated to stem cell research. In 2015, she transitioned to studying fish physiology, delving into protein metabolism.
