I hold a PhD in Human Geography from the University of Barcelona (2009). Since 2019 I am FCT Associate Research Professor [Investigador Principal FCT] in Urban Geogra-phy at the Interdisciplinary Center of Social Sciences at NOVA University of Lisbon, supported by the Scientific Employment Stimulus Program of the Portuguese Foundation for Science & Technology. My research includes 3 main topics: (i) Nightlife, tourism and urban change; (ii) Social geographies of youth in Euro-Mediterranean countries; and (iii) Environment, society, and global change. With a total of 2,044 citations (Scholar Google, 10/09/2024; h index=23; i10 index=41), I have published a total of 112 publications, including Urban Studies (2024, 2020), Urban Geography (2024, 2021), Journal of Ur-bansim (2024), Journal of Heritage Tourism (2024), Population, Space & Place (2024), Sexualities (2024), DanceCult (2023), ACME: An International Journal of Critical Geog-raphies (2023), World Leisure Journal (2023), Annals of Leisure Research (2023), Cit-ies (2022, 2017), Town Planning Review (2021), Urban Research & Practice (2019), City (2018), Tourism Geographies (2018), City & Community (2017), Leisure Studies (2017), Social & Cultural Geography (2017) and Area (2015), among many others. My publications track also includes book chapters in prestigious publishers such as Edward Elgar (2024), Routledge (2024, 2023, 2018), Springer (2021), Palgrave Macmillan (2019), Cambridge Scholars (2018), Brill (2016), Peter Lang (2016), Emerald Press (2012), and Sage (2012). Also, I am Co-Editor of Understanding Night-time Tourism (Edward Elgar, 2024), Editor of “Nocturnal Cities: Past, Present and Futures” – Special Issue in Forum Sociológico (2023), Co-Editor of Exploring Iberoamerican Youth Street Cultures in the 21st Century – Creativity, Resistance and Transgression in the City (Springer, 2021), and Editor of Exploring Nightlife: Space, Society and Governance (Rowman & Littlefield, 2018). I am founder and coordinator of LXNIGHTS Re-search Group, an international team of scholars working on the geographies of the noc-turnal city, and co-founder of the International Night Studies Network. I’ve partici-pated as National Consortium Leader or team member in 14 research grants, and have been Scientific Advisor of the project ‘Geographies of Nightlife in Lisbon, Madrid and Barcelona (2018-2020)’, funded by Reina Sofia Centre on Youth & Adolescent Studies (Spain), and also of “SAFE!N Project: Safe Night Out Certification in Lisbon’, a com-munity-focused project funded by the Lisbon City Council (BIPZIP-Ref.0095/2015). I am member of the Advisory Board of Music International Lisbon Festival, and I am sci-entific advisor of the Barcelona Night Commission since 2019. Also, I have been ap-pointed as Scientific Expert of the Barcelona Time Use Initiative for a Healthy Society (2023) towards new forms of daily organization aiming at enhancing social well-being and a better community life.
