I am a highly accomplished chemist with extensive research experience in the areas of molecular magnetism, inorganic molecules, materials, and catalysis. I obtained my PhD in Chemistry from the University College Dublin in 2010, where I was a part of the ERA-Chemistry transnational scheme under the guidance of Prof. Grace Morgan. Following my doctoral studies, I pursued postdoctoral research positions at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology with Prof. Mario Ruben and the University of Lisbon with Prof. Maria José Calhorda, where I established my own research line on molecular magnetism and the use of paramagnetic molecules as catalysts for activation of small molecules. In 2019, I secured a highly competitive CEEC Individual research position at the Auxiliary Researcher level, and I currently secured a permanent position as Auxiliary Researcher at "Centro de Química Estrutural", Faculty of Sciences, University of Lisbon. As a lecturer, I have taught both undergraduate and graduate courses, including practical inorganic chemistry, chemical systems and reactivity, supramolecular chemistry and nanochemistry, and molecular magnetism and luminescence. I have also supervised over 30 students at various academic levels. Currently my research group is composed by one junior researcher, three PhD students, and six project students. Throughout my career, I have been an active participant in numerous national and European-level projects, including serving on the management committee of COST actions and winning the 2017 Arthur E. Martell Early Career Researcher Prize, which led to my appointment to the editorial boards of esteemed journals such as Sustainability and Frontiers in Inorganic Chemistry. Additionally, I have organized international workshops and meetings, delivered numerous invited lectures and seminars, and authored about 45 peer-reviewed articles in high-impact journals, 20 of which I served as corresponding author.
