Ângela Leonor Castanheira Liberal. Mestre em Genética Molecular Comparativa e Tecnológica e Licenciada em Genética e Biotecnologia pela Universidade de Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro. No Instituto Politécnico de Bragança começou a integrar projetos direcionados à análise de produtos naturais, nomeadamente na sua avaliação química, nutricional e ao nível de bioatividades (antioxidante, anti-tumoral e anti-inflamatória). Em 2019, recebeu uma bolsa de investigação para um projeto designado INTERNOVAMARKET-FOOD, um programa acelerador que visa aumentar a competitividade do setor alimentar na Galícia-Norte de Portugal. Atualmente, faz parte de um programa de doutoramento na Universidade de Salamanca, cujo projeto envolve a análise química e nutricional de diferentes variedades de lentilhas. Encontra-se ainda incluída em projectos já anteriormente em curso e que, em conjunto, lhe forneceram competências para realizar as tarefas propostas, estendendo-se desde o desenvolvimento de trabalhos de laboratório até a redação de artigos científicos em revistas com elevado fator de impacto, projetos, capítulos de livros, entre outros. Tem ainda desenvolvido trabalhos de revisão de artigos científicos em revistas ISI/SCOPUS e de co-orientação de estágios. Atualmente, integra o projeto "PulpIng - Development of Pumpkin Pulp Formulation using a Sustainable Integrated Strategy" como bolseira de investigação.
