Samantha Morais has a BSc Hons in Science and Technology Studies (York University, Canada, 2010), an MSc in Epidemiology (FMUP, Portugal, 2013) and a PhD in Public Health (FMUP, Portugal, 2018). She was a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Division of Cancer Epidemiology (McGill, Canada, 2022). She is an Epidemiologist (DAS) at ICES and a collaborator of the Non Communicable Diseases Epidemiology research group (EPIUnit-ISPUP). She was an Invited Assistant Professor in Introduction to Epidemiology (2019-2021) and Fundamentals of Statistics (Curricular Unit Director, 2020-2021) at FMUP. Morais has (co-)supervised three MSc in Health Education, one Integrated Masters in Medicine and one internship. She is currently a (co-)supervisor of two PhDs in Public Health. She has received several distinctions including: Best Student Award (2018), Enrico Anglesio Prize Finalist (2020, 2021) and J Clin Epidemiol Annual Reviewer Award (2020). During her career, Morais has published 50+ articles in international peer-reviewed journals (Google Scholar: h-index - 18; total citations - 871). Morais has participated in many multidisciplinary, national and international collaborations, which have allowed her to interact with over 150 collaborators in her professional activities.
