Cecília Honório is an affiliated researcher at CHAM-Centre for the Humanities, an inter-University research unit of the FCSH-NOVA University of Lisbon and the University of Azores. She holds a PhD in History and Theory of Ideas (2003) at NOVA FCSH with a thesis on Men, Nature, Power and Knowledge, published in 2012. She holds an MA in Cultural and Political History (1994). Her research interests include the History of Political Thought in the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries; the rise of populism in the late 20th century; and the History of Women in politics. Within CHAM, she is part of the group Modern and Contemporary Thought where she participates in the project Revista das Ideias which aims to illuminate the cultural and political landscape of the 20th century by scrutinizing pivotal magazines of that era. She has authored several articles, books and collective volumes, and has a documentary film to her credit. Her work includes a book on the key role played by young women in resisting the dictatorship (2014) and a documentary film (2022) which draws inspiration from the notorious 1972 publication of "Novas Cartas Portuguesas" to discuss current themes in contemporary feminist thought and politics.
