In the last five years my major achievements include attraction of national and international funding. I am the PI of a regional cultural programming network for agents from 8 municipalities in the Portugal Centro Region - REDE ARTÉRIA (CENTRO-07- 2114-FEDER- 000022, 2018-2021, €631.684,93). I am currently a PI on the elaboration of a strategic funding proposal for the second phase of REDE ARTÉRIA (2023-2025). I was also a PI of CES as a research partner for MovTour: tourism culture with and for society (POCI, FCT 2018-2019, €141.688,76) and a PI in A Meu Ver - action-research project for social inclusion of people with visual impairment or low vision through artistic practices – (2021-2024 - Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and “la Caixa” Foundation through PARTIS & Art for Change - 161 225,50 €). I was part of the CES coordination team for CREATOUR: Creative Tourism Destination Development in Small Cities and Rural Areas (2016-2020, COMPETE2020, POR Lisboa, POR Algarve and FCT, €1.846.169,77). I presently integrate the CES research team for the Horizon project UNCHARTED(2020-2024, €2.999.716,25) and got approval at the Horizon project IN SITU: Place-based innovation of cultural and creative industries in non-urban areas (2022 – 2026, €3.999.836,25) where CES is the coordinating entity,. Since 2011, I have published 14 articles in peer-review journals, 6 of them as a single- author and 8 in the last five years. I ‘ve submitted a paper in February 2022 to Assessment in Education: Principles, Policy & Practice that is under revision and two others are under submission to Journal of Urban Culture Research (JUCR) and Journal of Cultural Economy. I have co-edited 1 international journal special issue (2018) and 1 national special issue (2019). These publications include peer- review journals like: Action Research, Arts Education Policy Review, Conjunctions – Transdisciplinary Journal of Cultural Participation, Culture and Local Governance, Tourism Geographies, Heritage & Society, the Social Enterprise Journal and the Journal of Science Communication. I have published 15 book chapters since 2013 (9 in international books and 13 in the last five years). I’ve co-edited for CABI International (2021). In addition, I’ve co-edited the final book of REDE ARTÉRIA for the Centro Region Commission for Coordination and Regional Development (CCDRC). I’ve published, since 2011, 12 scientific reports, one guide for practitioners (2020), two policy briefs (2013, 2020), one brochure on CES citizen science program (2022) and one entry in a scientific dictionary (2020). These publications gave me the opportunity to disseminate the results of my career and enabled an interdisciplinary work from the collaboration with different colleagues, with visible impacts both nationally (by creating new venues for action-research), locally (by creating sustainable networks of academic and non-academic partners) and internationally (opening the field of research to networks and collaborations). I have experience in student supervisions, in master (11), doctoral (2) and pos-doctoral (1) thesis. They are currently in academia, public administration, social solidarity private institutions and in the cultural and tourism sectors. Major collaborations include Arturo Morato (University of Barcelona, Spain), Emmanuel Négrier and Félix Dupin-Meynard (CNRS, France), Melanie Sarantou (University of Lapland, Finland) and Janet Pillai (University of Hong Kong’s, China). The scientific collaboration as a visiting researcher at the MIT Department of Urban Studies and Planning (2004-2007) gave the scientific grounds to become a Researcher at CES (since 2018), co-coordinator of the Cities, Cultures and Architecture Research Group (2019-2021) and co-coordinator of the CES Citizen Science Extension Program (2015- 2022). Presently, I co-coordinate, at CES, the Citizen Science and Education Research Group and I am an invited assistant professor at FEUC (2021-2023).
