Adriana Cruz graduated in biochemistry in 2016 from University of Aveiro. In that year she engaged in a master in Bioorganic at University Nova of Lisbon and completed it in 2019. During her academic years she worked in different fields including organic chemistry, radiopharmaceutical development and biological sciences. Since 2019, she started working as researcher at the Portuguese Institute of Oncology. During this period she acquired experience in cell culture, flow cytometry and fluorescence microscopy. The project was developed in the context of ovarian cancer chemoresistance, having also contributed to chemoresistance study in pancreatic cancer. The work developed resulted in a publication of which Adriana Cruz is the first author. In 2020 she worked at Portuguese Institute of Oncology as reasearcher on a project which involved the study of new fluorescent probes for the detection of micrometastasis in ovarian cancer. Adriana Cruz, also worked for during three months as a technician in the hemato-oncology service of the . In this service she gained experience in processing biological samples and molecular biology. Actually, Adriana Cruz is a PhD student at IST-UL and IPO-Francisco Gentil Lisboa and her work is focused on dendrimers as nanotherapeutic agents for cancer treatment.
