Currently , she is performing a post-doctoral stay at the University of Aveiro, contracted by the project (CENTRO-01-0247-FEDER-047080) under the supervision of Prof. Joa ~o Tedim. She finished her PhD Thesis (19/12/2022) entitled Surface functionalisation of Mg alloys for biodegradable implants at the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM) and Polymer Science and technology Institute (CSIC-ICTP) (Spain) under the supervision of Dr. Endzhe Matykina and Dr. Juan Rodríguez Hernández. In 2016, she joined the UCM research group for the first time to carry out her Final Degree Project in Chemistry working on the synthesis of Schiff Base Ligand complexes by Electrochemical and Chemical Reaction for their subsequent use as catalysts. Subsequently, she completed the Master in Materials Science and Engineering at the Carlos III University of Madrid and during that time, her research focused on the synthesis of polymeric nanogels and nanocapsules encapsulating metal nanoparticles for their application as biosensors. In 2018 she returned to UCM and started his PhD Thesis, focused on the design of drug-functionalised multilayer systems consisting of ceramic coatings by plasma electrolytic oxidation and porous biodegradable polymeric coatings on Mg-Zn-Ca alloys. Despite her short research career, she has 7 publications in peer-reviewed journals and 8 national and international conferences, so she has a great experience in writing proposals, publications and oral presentations. Moreover, during these 4 years of a research career, she has gained independence in different characterization techniques (optical microscopy, SEM, AFM, SKPFM, TEM, XRD, FTIR, UV-visible and contact angle) and corrosion measurements by electrochemical measurements (OCP, PDP, EIS), hydrogen evolution and biocompatibility assessment. One of the virtues of the researcher is her ability to adapt to different professional environments, as the multidisciplinary nature of her doctoral thesis allowed her to form part of different research groups in various institutions (UCM, ICTP and Puridisciplinar Institute). In addition, during her doctoral thesis, she spent 3 months at the Institute of Surface Science (Geesthacht, Germany), where she carried out localized measurements to evaluate the inhibitory effect of ciprofloxacin on the corrosion behaviour of the system. This had a great impact on her research career because she acquired a network of national and international collaborations independent of her research group, and where she obtained results that could be published in high-impact journals and presented at national and international conferences, one of which was an invited paper.
