Iara Gripp Oliveira is a Ph.D. student in Mechanical Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering of University of Porto (FEUP) since 2022. She graduated in Mechanical Engineering from Fluminense Federal University (UFF) in 2018 and got her master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from UFF in 2021. She is the co-author of 5 papers in international journals, such as Engineering Failure Analysis (Elsevier) and Structures (Elsevier). She worked on the project 'SHOWTIME-01 - Fatigue Assessment of Metallic Connections in Onshore Wind Turbine Support Structures' (a 9 month project funded by FEUP) and is currently working on 'Agenda Nexus - Pacto de Inovação - Transição Verde e Digital para Transportes, Logística e Mobilidade' and as a Tutor Professor (Mechanical of Materials and Calculus). During graduation, she had the opportunity of working as a junior researcher at the Laboratory of Metallography and Heat Treatment, and during her master's she received the Capes scholarship and her dissertation was nominated for the ABCM award and the 'Prêmios UFF de Excelência 2022' as the best master's dissertation work in the year 2021 by her Graduate Program. She also participated in the ICSI 2021, IGF26 and SIM 2021 congresses and organized the Research Seminar in Mechanical Engineering (SEPEM-UFF) in 2021 and 2022. Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science are her main areas of work, particularly the following topics: ancient materials, microstructure, mechanical properties, steel and its alloys, welding, heat treatment and metallic structures. Recently, she has been working on the production of the book 'Mecânica dos Materiais' along with with her advisor Doctor José A.F.O. Correia.
