Susana Maria Gouveia Sá Ventura Fontinha. Is Deputy in the Secretaria Regional de Ambiente, Recursos Naturais e Alterações of the Madeira's Government, where coordinates the candidancy of the Levadas da Madeira Cultural World Heritage. At the University of Madeira is an invited Professor of Environment and Rural Development. At this university is researcher on the Isoplexis, the Centre of Sustainable Agriculture and Food Technology, whose mission is to contribute with knowledge and technology to the development and sustainability of the agri-food sector and bioeconomy. Is also a researcher on the Natural History & Systematics Research Group and the Subgroup Plant, lichen and fungi systematics, biogeography and conservation genetics of cE3c. Her research at cE3c focuses on systematics, biogeography and ecology of bryophytes from Macaronesia. For many years have been involved in island and mainland biodiversity research using as model system the Madeira and Selvagens archipelagos. As CEO of the enterprise Queridanatureza, has done more than 50 workshops about Madeira's Plants, since 2018. Author of a TV programme named As nossas plantas, usos e costumes da Madeira, at the RTP Madeira. Volunteer at CRIAMAR since 2008. Published 79 articles in journals.
