Miguel Barão é professor auxiliar do Departamento de Informática da Universidade de Évora. É doutorado em Engenharia Electrotécnica e de Computadores na área de Controlo e Robótica pelo Instituto Superior Técnico. Orientou um doutoramento e nove mestrados, participou em diversos projectos de investigação, tendo sido coordenador de um deles. Tem várias publicações em revistas científicas e conferências internacionais conceituadas. Os seus interesses de investigação enquadram-se genericamente nas áreas de sistemas dinâmicos e inteligência artificial, com ênfase em problemas com incerteza.
