Makhabbat Ramazanova is Assistant Professor and Coordinator of the Master's Programme in Tourism and Hospitality at Universidade Portucalense (UPT), Portugal. She holds a PhD in Tourism from the University of the Balearic Islands, Spain (2019), MSc in Sustainable Development from the Dublin Institute of Technology, Ireland (2013) and BSc in Finance from Ualikhanov University, Kazakhstan (2011). She is a member of the "Territory and Development Research Group" of REMIT - Research in Economics, Management and Information Technologies (UPT). Over the last 10 years, she has coordinated and worked on EU capacity-building projects with HEIs in Central Asia, Europe, Asia and Latin America. She is currently involved in projects related to entrepreneurship in ecotourism, sustainable tourism, cultural heritage and gastronomy and research management in higher education institutions. Her main areas of research are related to the tourism-water nexus, sustainable tourism, ecotourism, cultural heritage and tourism, and the development and management of tourist destinations.
