Carlos A. Pittella (he/him) is a Latinx poet, editor, and researcher. Born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, he currently lives in Montréal/Tiohtià:ke, Canada, where he received an MA in English/Creative Writing from Concordia University (2023). He also holds an MA and a doctorate in literary studies from PUC-Rio, having defended his thesis on the trilingual sonnets of Fernando Pessoa, advised by Cleonice Berardinelli (PUC-Rio, 2012). He has edited several works by and about Pessoa, including the dramas "Fausto" and "Marino," as well as Hubert Jennings's biography of the poet, "Fernando Pessoa, The Poet with Many Faces." He is the recipient of a Frontier 2022 Global Poetry Prize. His writing is haunted by borders and bureaucracies, having appeared in journals such as Frontier Poetry, Radar Poetry, The Acentos Review, and The Capilano Review.
