Isabel Cansado is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Évora University. She bases her research on environmental improvement, through the valorization of a diversity of solid wastes, mainly inorganic polymers and bioresidues, by converting them into carbon materials for application in areas that include the treatment of gaseous and liquid effluents.

In this work a series of microporous activated carbons, with different burn offs, was prepared from recycled PET provided by Selenis (Portalegre-Portugal).
